  1. Newbie Nest

Oops, that discord invite expired. https://discord.gg/QCKsaBw This one should be a permanent one.
  2. Wildstar Roleplay Primer

The Discord I refer to as the Entity RP discord is the main discord for Entity Roleplayers used by the Wildstar-Roleplay.com community. While your side project is noted, that is unrelated to WSRP itself, which is what this thread is about.
  3. Wildstar Streamers!

Starting this thread to get a single place for streamers to post up their streams. Recommending that people list the group they raid/play with and the times they stream along with their main character name and URL to stream. Stream Title: Jazz Raidio Character: Sylyss Dalakan URL http://www.twitch.tv/sylyss Guild: Phobos Times: M, W, F 9:30-midnight EST
  4. Newbie Nest

Newbie Nest! There's a circle out there to help new players get oriented in Wildstar, help them level up, get a handle on builds, gear, runes, and navigate endgame content. Members of several raiding guilds are present in the circle to offer voices of experience as well as help completing content. If interested, hop into the Newbie Nest discord today: https://discord.gg/XjaX2r
  5. From http://tinyurl.com/wsrpfaq Q: How is the RP community here?A: Pretty large and diverse! Each server has an OOC chatroom to meet other RPers. On Entity, this is at /chjoin WSRP and on Jabbit, it's /chjoin LFRP. /chjoin is the command to join any channel should you want to join more! There's also a good amount of circles, guilds, and events! You can find a list of these activities on theEvent Calender. Guilds, Circles, and other Events can be found on the forums under the Entity or Jabbit Most RP occurs on housing lots, which require you to be level 14. However, you can still join the channels before level 14.Q: What server should I join?A: That depends on your region! If you're in North America, Entity is the main server, and it is an RP PvE server. If you're in Europe, Jabbit is the server and it is also an RP PvE server. If you're playing on Entity, I strongly recommend having a look at our RP primer with everything you need to know, found here! Q: Where is the chatroom? You can find us out of game if you're on Entity at The Entity Discord or if you're on Jabbit, the The Jabbit Discord !Q: Should I play Exile or Dominion?A: On Entity and Jabbit, both factions have a large RP base and regularly hold events and are involved in plots. In Wildstar, you can also use add-ons to speak cross faction as well. You should play whatever you'd think you'd enjoy!Q: Where can I find lore?A: All over! We have a collection of lore gathered at this site under Roleplay Resources on the top menu.Loremageddon is a collection of the official Wildstar lore of the game. You can also check out our timeline at the site!Q: Are there any add-ons I need?A: None you need, but there's a lot that are very useful! You can find add-ons at Curse , and we have a list of useful RP here! Q: What are circles?A: Circles are like smaller versions of guilds. They give you access to a chat channel specific to the circle, as well as a tag over your head. You can be in up to 5 at once, and are great for RP to allow players to be parts of multiple different groups!Q: What are the site rules?A: The site rules can be found at our Code of Conduct . In a nutshell, be nice to one another!Q: Where can I learn more about RPing?A: The Roleplay Resources topic on the top menu has some good links to what RP is and a little bit about It. There's also our Roleplay Resources forum that has a good amount of information!Q: What class should I play?A: That really depends on your playstyle and what you think you'd enjoy! Every class is capable of being a DPS, with everyone given a second toolbar to switch between a secondary build so you don't have to choose between DPS, Tanking, or Healing. There are 3 classes capable of healing (Spellslinger, Esper, and Medic) and 3 classes capable of tanking (Stalker, Warrior, and Engineer)Q: Where does RP happen? A: All over! A good amount happens on housing lots however - you cannot access housing until level 14 unfortunately. The WSRP Housing Directory has a list of active lots, as well as hours of operation!Q: I had a character sheet I made in the past, but I can't find it! Where'd it go? A: We archived a lot of the older character sheets during a forum reorganization, so if you want us to put your character sheet back on the main forums, just poke a mod and provide the link for us to move the thread back! You can find the original post by clicking your profile and your old posts.Q: What are all these currencies? What do they do?A: Each currency is pretty modular - A PvP currency for PvP gear, a raid currency for raid gear, an end game currency for end game. Ishaori put together a great guide to help you figure all this outhere!

  9. IMPORTANT save wildstar

In just about every MMO, after the first month, there grows a vocal crowd that insists the game is dying. I've been with Wildstar since launch, and have heard that it is dying since about July or August of 2014. Try not to panic. Just have fun, and let others know you're having fun. You can never stop the doomsayers from saying doom, it's what they do. Are there issues? Certainly. But none are so great that they impede my ability to have a ton of fun in the game. I don't think it's worth fretting over too much. Game will keep going as long as it will keep going. Enjoy it.
  10. I have absolutely no idea whether or not this is even feasible based on whatever contract Carbine has with NCSoft, but it is a concept which has been successful in other games. For non-signature players, inserting paid advertisements from real world companies on billboards or playing them on TV screens when a player passes by them could be a way to acquire an additional revenue stream. Planetside 1, Anarchy Online, and other games in the past have used this method for their Free players. It creates an additional incentive to subscribe, and generates some degree of income even for players who don't spend a cent on the game based on cashing in on advert watches. This could be tied in to Protostar in some way, maybe. I don't know. Just a fairly random idea.
  11. DevConnect: Faction Barrier

For queuing into instanced PvE content, I could agree to lowering the faction barrier. For anything else, I would be very firmly against it. The very foundation of the Wildstar story is based on the Exile/Dominion conflict. If this conflict were erased and the factions were permitted to just hang out together, none of the build-up through the game would make sense. PvP flagging, also, would no longer make sense if you attempted to assert that the factions were somehow neutral or cool with one another. However, I would have no objection to instanced PvE stuff allowing mixed factions. It would have a positive impact on queue times, and I don't really consider the group compositions inside instances to be as important as the delineation of factions out in the open world. Additionally, since it /is/ instanced, it would not be contradictory to the way PvP flagging works today. Simply put, allowing for this particular exception would have the most positive impact on the game experience and cost (in my opinion) the least effort to implement. No actual content would need to be revised or produced to 'excuse' the factions hanging out together.
  12. Roleplay

*Chirps in* ChatSplitter is another RP add-on. Rather than suppress distant posts, it handles them by making them appear in a dimmer color, allowing you to read them but visually filter them out if the area is noisy. Additionally, it not only breaks long posts apart in the same way Killroy does, it also glues them back together again on receipt so they appear as one large post instead of multiple broken-up ones. RE: Would a channel for RP be helpful? Yes, and each server and faction has created their own RP channel. They're pretty well documented on the WSRP website, under the RP orientation guide link on there. As mentioned above, though, many resources available for getting involve with the RP community. Good luck!
  13. Malgrave Trail - Still my LEAST liked adventure

A lot of it comes down to the route that you choose. Once you find a good route, essentially none of those issues come up. No one-shot bosses, lots of resources, predictable mob placement, no heat DoT zones. All of those event triggers are in predictable areas. It's about exploration. If you find one leg that runs into those kinds of mechanical issues, try a different leg. Or talk to people who know the Trail well and can advise you! I have led several groups who are totally new to the Trail and we've come out with gold rather easily.
  14. Malgrave Trail - Still my LEAST liked adventure

But.. but.. Malgrave Trail is still my favorite adventure. I am not saying this ironically. I love it. It is my go-to when I want to run an adventure for casual fun. While I know an optimal route, I love all the branches and have explored each of them. All the mini-challenges and secrets to be found entertain me to no end. It is the most engaging of all of the adventures in my opinion. Note: Can achieve consistent gold on this, requiring just over 30 minutes per run.
  15. Insta kill mechanics need to go

This is a good start. I maintain (as stated in my previous post) that having much better UI feedback for interruptable casts would actually tell the user when those interrupts are needed. In the Academy, you get it spelled out to you -- but in the default interface, there is no immediately clear visual feedback for when interrupts need to be thrown. So unless you're obsessively searching for that tiny, tiny cast bar to appear in microtext, and then take the time to look down at the boss shield to verify he isn't in infinite IA mode, you are given no real clear idea. By the time you've abandoned your current visual focus to check on these details, the cast is probably already finished so your interrupt is too late, all because the visual indicators do a very poor job of conveying necessary information. The fact that Interruptor and things like it are considered mandatory addons by people who seriously do group content should be telling that the base UI is insufficient. It seems that it should be negligible to add better UI feedback into the base interface to give a new player a much better experience that they feel more control of.
