Introducing Wildstar's newest mini-game, Wildball!
 
 
Wildball is a soccer mini-game made for Wildstar using housing plots and lua code:)  It's a game of strategy, positioning, and timing!  The latest in my line of lua-code enhanced housing mini-games (along with racing and fast draw competitions).
 
Every class has different skills they can use to hit the ball around the field (see http://tinyurl.com/wildballskills ),and you score by hitting the ball into the opposing goal.  The ball always moves straight away from the player that hit it.  Hitting the ball with most skills locks your team out of hitting it again for 1 second, so the other team can stop your dribbling if they are ahead of you.  Score is tracked by the digital scoreboard on the sideline!
 
I am awaiting drop 6's larger lots to build a stadium around the Wildball field:)
 
P.S.  The plot doesn't work if I'm not there, so if you want to try a game, find me online!  All my alts are Katia clones:)

This looks fantastic, Katia. :D Is this going to be available as an addon other builders can use? Would be a great guild activity.

Oh, Katia. If there was an award for Coolest Add-On, I would give it to you. I love that you've added something to the game that's truly unique.

 

While it is great as it is, the potential there is just ... awe-inspiring. Truly, well done.

Is this going to be available as an addon other builders can use?

Question: Is your source code available?

 

In the distant future.  For the time being it's better if there's only one Wildball field active since there aren't that many players yet, but I'm hoping things will change (especially with f2p coming).

 

Also the code is somewhat hacked together and also has a lot of hard-coded assumptions about the plot it's running on.  I'll need to add some UI for customizing it to other plots before releasing it.

 

Reminds me of Rocket League.

 

I got the idea after seeing Rocket League ^_^

 

Not without renaming it correctly to "football"  :D

 

I did use football for the portmanteau :)

How will perma sprint effect this?

OHHHH, imagine if Carbine did introduce something like the rocketball but just using our abilites.  Movement skills would be so fun. :D

Make it faster I suppose but we lose the ability for breakaways and surprise steals I imagine.

It'll mostly affect the situation where somebody gets the ball past you and starts running away, it'll make it a little faster to catch up with them.  But I don't think that's a bad thing, if necessary I will make some tweaks to dribble speed when the time comes:)

Have you thought about (if you are able) throwing this on the PTR so that our EU friends can have some fun with this?  Maybe set up an event for some teams or podcast or even devs to play against each other as it is currently the only way for the two regions to play together at this time.
